This course is suitable
for students who would like to explore the variety of creative textile
techniques that can be achieved using the domestic sewing machine.
Using a simple design source, students will be guided through a
range of design techniques and will be shown a variety of stitch
techniques to interpret the designs. Basic design and colour theory
will be covered. Each individual will be demonstrating their acquired
skills in the form of small completed projects to demonstrate the
skills.
The course is recreational and feedback on the individual’s
progress is given verbally. The essence of this course is to be
experimental and to brake boundaries in a fun and supportive environment.
On completion of this course you can re-enrol for as many terms
as you like to learn a range of new design and stitch techniques
as skills are achieved and extended for each more advanced textile
project.
