This course is suitable for students with little or no experience of the creative use of the sewing machine but wish to explore the potential of a range of textile techniques. A variety of fabric making, stitch and embellishing methods will be introduced as well as some simple design processes. The combination of these skills will result in the students being able to produce an individual and unique piece of textile work.

The course is recreational and feedback on the individual’s progress is given verbally. The essence of this course is to be experimental and to brake boundaries in a fun and supportive environment. On completion of this course you can re-enrol for as many terms as you like to learn a range of new design and stitch techniques as skills are achieved and extended for each more advanced textile project.
