Students are guided through a design unit exploring colour, mark making, pattern development and texture.

These ideas are developed into a set of ten samples to show a variety of skills in patching, applique and quilting. Two final projects are undertaken to display these skills. One piece incorporates patchwork and appropriate quilting and the other, applique and appropriate quilting.
